The Classic Scottish Sandstone
Dunaverig is a soft toned sandstone dug exclusively by Tradstocks which takes it's name from our quarry in The Trossachs just outside Stirling. This beautiful stone launched us to the Scottish Stone Industry's forefront, and has helped fund further innovation and exploration.
A classical sandstone with a clean, stately style, no matter the choice in finishing. Variations merge to create a warm skin-tone and offer style reminiscent of Georgian house-fronts. Half of Edinburgh was built with this stone, Fettes College and Fettes Row being perfect examples.

We have pledged to never import foreign stone. The irreversible impact on the environment of transporting stone from India or China and the disturbing use of child workers in quarries make any importation unethical. All of our stone is quarried here in Scotland. The perfect building material.
Ashlar walling
Dunaverig's soft, clean colours and warmth create a stunning version of Ashlar walling. This sandstone was used to build the iconic ashlar faced townhouses in Edinburgh that exemplify the style.
